Entry 973: Attach
an appliance module to your television and set it to go on at random times during the days
your gone. (make sure the volume is at a slightly higher level so it can be heard from
outside your house). It might not hurt to set up a lamp module to light up a hallway or
bathroom light during the late evening hours. -- Greg Klobuchar
Entry 966: x10
amazing technology, not only satisfies the gadget minded but also provides the piece of
mind that no other security system can. it provides security buy giving people the
information needed without spending hours on anoying little timers arround the house which
never seem to work. the alarm features such as the exterior motion lights give you the
ability to discreetly notify you of an intruder or for the wife or single person the
ability to trigger events which will truly confound even the season thief namelly the
barking dog chime and ability to turn lights on in different locations in the house to
notify that people are there.... let's see an alarm system do that.... not..... so if your
a fan of the future.... why not enjoy the future now with x10....safety...security...and
science.... today and into tommorrow... -- Matthew francis
Entry 1035: I am
setting up 4 motion sensor flood lights on each corner of the house. best way to keep an
intruder out is to catch him before he can get into the house! I also have a macro that
turns on the house lights in my upstairs bedroom, (10 seconds later) then hall, (5 seconds
later) then a bedroom nearest the sensor that went off, (30 seconds) i then have the
bottom floor lights go on one at a time. (20 seconds later) i open the garage door (inside
house door is always locked), that makes a big racket and should scare any would be their
off the premises. i also have a button by the bed to reverse the process. also to make
life a little easier, i found that my neighbor has put in a Hawkeye II in his mailbox to
notify him when the mailman comes. I found the code and have rigged it up to sound a chime
in my house. since the mail man comes to his house first, it gives me a chance to get my
mail and run out to the mailbox before he gets to my mailbox.-- Charles Oliveria
Entry 1538: When
on vacation or extended absence from home I have hawkeye II motion sensors set up to
monitor the doors and windows in my house. They are set to trip a chime module in my next
door neighbors house, in case someone tries to break in. -- Paul W. Davis |
