Theme: What's the Best Application for X10 (ActiveHome) in the Garden/Outdoors?

Entry 210: A perfect lawn is no longer a dream for me. my sprinklers come on twice a day, whether I'm home or not. if only I could get the X10 to mow the lawn! -- John Carr Votes:93

Entry 285: I am working on setting up a web interface to the cm11a that will allow anyone in the house to load a browser and click on the room of choice. it will then provide the user with a list of information such as the temp. (using Dallas semiconductor temp sensors) and what lights are on or off. it also allows the user to select and change the lighting in that room. I am also setting up the motion sensors at the door to tell the computer to play an audio file when there is motion detected. just to let me know when someone is at the door before they ring the bell. -- Todd Littleken  Votes:92

Entry 186: My yard is a almost a total joy with the X10 system. the lawn gets watered starting at 3:30 am, the gardens after that at 6am. by 7:30 am the pool heater turns on and raises the water temp by 10am for my morning swim. now if I could only figure a way for X10 to start the lawnmower and cut my grass, then life would be perfect. -- Kathy Felton  Votes:60

Entry 261: The ability to keep those unwanted critters away anytime day or night. -- Tanya Rhoades Votes:56

Entry 201: My neighbor's dog used to consider my front yard as his bathroom. every morning between about 5:00am and 7:00am he would make his rounds... never using his own yard, of course. if I happened to catch him, I could yell or throw something to scare him off... but if I happened to sleep in or miss his visit for some reason or another, I would find a (not so) "little surprise" reminding me of his visit. this got old real fast! X10 to the rescue!!! now, if that darn dog enters my yard between 5:00am and 7:00am, he is detected by my X10 motion detector, and my sprinkler system comes on and gives him a shower. since setting this up several weeks ago, I haven't found any more "little surprises". in fact, just the other morning I saw Mr. dog one yard farther down the street... doing his business. do you think I should share my X10 secret? -- Jeff Sohler
